Rachel Hutchens has been involved with the New Zealand Automobile Association since 2017 and currently serves as Auckland District Council Chair and National Councillor, contributing to both local and national advocacy.

With over 20 years’ experience in project coordination and event management across the arts, corporate, and community sectors, Rachel brings strong organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, along with a proven ability to deliver complex projects with precision. She is passionate about community engagement and supporting initiatives that create safer outcomes for young people.

Rachel joined SADD in April 2026. As a parent of teenagers who have been, and are still, progressing through the graduated licensing system, supporting young people to make safe choices on the road is a cause that is close to home.
