Kaitiaki o Ara/SADD workshops have long been a staple of our programme and if you have attended one, you will know why! Our workshops are designed to provide the perfect introduction and kick start to getting involved as a SADD leader in your school. Workshops combine helpful information, inspiring activity examples, opportunities to connect with others, and key training in the tools you need to take your next step in your leadership journey.

Our workshops are interactive, informative and adaptable - making them suitable for any year level or experience with SADD. Whether you are completely new to the programme and just want to find out more, or you have been involved for some time - you will get loads out of attending your local workshop.

What to expect :

  • Informative and engaging content tailored to where you are at in your SADD journey - whether that be just getting started or seeking to improve your leadership skills.

  • A chance to give some activities a go and get support with planning events for your own school

  • Great snacks!

  • Meet other local SADD leaders and find out about all the cool events and campaigns that you can get involved with

  • You will leave knowing how you can be involved with the programme and where to find resources and support

  • You will get to meet and network with your Programme Delivery Lead (your key supporter!) and local road safety partners

  • You will clock up key experience and skills in leadership, event planning, teamwork, networking, and more!

  • Tick off volunteer hours for your SVA Service Award, Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Awards, or other service awards and/or find out how SADD can help you achieve these in 2025

  • Nothing! Our workshops are provided to students free of charge.

  • We recommend 2-5 students per school attend for our regional workshops, but if there is only one person - that is totally cool too! We will make sure you are well supported from the start. It can be helpful to have a couple of students from the same school there so that you can bounce ideas around but totally not an essential. If you have a group bigger than 5 who would like to attend, we suggest touching base with the SADD Programme Delivery Lead running the workshop ahead of time so they can check spaces and let you know what will work.

If your workshop is a single school event then it is totally up to you how many you have come along, just make sure you have arranged a suitably sized space.

  • Absolutely! Get in touch with your Programme Delivery Lead and they will set you up with some options - we may be able to fit in a visit to your school on another date or book in an online workshop with you.
