Celebrating 40 Years of SADD:
Driving Change, Empowering Youth, Inspiring Safer Roads
This year marks 40 years since SADD began its journey as a youth-led movement for road safety in Aotearoa.
What started in a single school in 1985 has grown into a nationwide network of passionate young people creating change in their communities. Over the past four decades, SADD has empowered thousands of rangatahi to speak up, take action, and drive safer choices on our roads. As we celebrate this milestone, we honour the legacy of those who came before us, recognise the impact of today’s leaders, and look ahead to a future where every young person has the confidence and support to make a difference.
