After a change to her original research project, Kenisha has embraced the opportunity to develop a new initiative that reflects both her interests and SADD's kaupapa. Her project, Know Before You Drive, aims to increase young people's understanding of the legal and practical responsibilities that come with driving. By making existing information from trusted organisations more accessible and youth-friendly, she hopes to empower rangatahi with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions. Through practical resources such as guides, short videos, and social media content, Kenisha is passionate about supporting young people to navigate vehicle ownership, insurance, consumer rights, and other important aspects of driving
Kenisha is now in the final stages of her project, Know Before You Drive, and is currently finalising the resources she has developed - guides, short videos, and social media content. The project aims to increase young people's understanding of the legal and practical responsibilities that come with driving by presenting existing information from trusted organisations in a more accessible and youth-friendly way. Her resources cover topics such as vehicle ownership, insurance, consumer rights, and other important aspects of driving.
The final step before launching the project is connecting with the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) to explore a potential collaboration and seek permission to include their logo on the resources. This partnership would help reinforce the credibility of the information and ensure young people can easily identify it as being supported by a trusted organisation.
