Something exciting is coming in 2027
Activate is a new series of one-day regional events bringing SADD students together for a day of inspiration, connection and action. Students will have the opportunity to build their leadership skills, explore road safety topics, share ideas with other schools and develop practical ways to make a difference in their communities.
Bringing the SADD conference experience closer to home, Activate is all about empowering young people to step up, connect with their region and create change.
Coming to the South Island in March–May 2027.
Registrations open at the start of Term 1. Watch this space!

We're planning five regional events across the South Island in March–May 2027:
Nelson
Christchurch
Timaru
Dunedin
Invercargill
Each event will bring together schools from the surrounding region, making it easier to take part without the need for long-distance travel. Exact dates and venues will be confirmed ahead of registrations.
-
Each school will be able to bring a group of 3-6 students to represent their school. Final numbers and any limits on places per school will be confirmed when registrations open in Term 1, 2027.
-
Students can expect a full day of interactive workshops, practical activities, group challenges and opportunities to connect with other young people and local road safety partners. The programme will focus on developing leadership skills, building road safety knowledge, sharing ideas and helping students identify actions they can take back to their schools.

Activate is for students who want to make a difference on our roads. Whether your school has an established SADD group, is just getting started or is looking to grow student involvement, there's something to gain. It's a great opportunity for existing student leaders to build their skills and for new students to get inspired and find out what's possible.
