For the drive. For your mates. For your future.

Show Up – Back for 2026!

Term 3 is all about showing up — for yourself, your mates, and your future.

Show Up is our national campaign encouraging young people to take responsibility, show respect, and make real-life choices that help keep everyone safe on the road. Whether it's checking your mates are buckled up, choosing not to get in the car with someone who's unsafe to drive, or speaking up when something doesn't feel right, every action makes a difference.

Throughout the term, we'll be sharing resources, activities, and ideas to help your SADD group get involved. Take part in the campaign, make it your own, and don't forget to tag us or email us with what you get up to so we can celebrate your efforts and share your impact.

Together, let's Show Up and make a positive difference on our roads.

What does it mean to show up?

Showing up doesn’t mean doing something huge or dramatic — it just means making choices that show you care. Whether it’s speaking up, stepping in, or simply setting a good example, there are heaps of easy (and actually cool) ways to show up for your friends, your school, and your community. You don’t need to be a prefect, a leader, or the loudest in the room — just someone who’s willing to make a difference.
Still not sure? Here’s 10 ways that you can show up:

  1. Speak up when your friend goes to drive tired or distracted – your voice could save lives.
    2. Offer to be the sober driver for your group ( if you’re on a full licence) – showing up means being the responsible one.
    3. Make sure everyone’s buckled up before you start the car – a small action, big impact.
    4. Call out unsafe behaviour as a passenger – otherwise your silence can be seen as approval.
    5. Organise a SADD activity at school – take the lead and bring others with you.
    6. Support a friend who’s feeling peer pressured to take risks – back them up and speak out.
    7. Post a message or story about road safety on your socials – use your voice to influence others.
    8. Plan a safe way home before going out – showing up means thinking ahead.
    9. Start a convo about road safety in your friend group or class – change starts with talk.
    10. Model good habits every time you get in a car – like putting your phone away and driving alert.

Download and print posters to stick up around your school, or post the images on social media with the hashtag #SADDshowup

Because showing up feels good — and could save someone’s life one day.

Every time you take action, you’re making real change happen. You’re setting the tone, shifting the culture, and showing your mates that road safety actually matters. Getting involved brings many wins:

  • Keep your mates safe

  • Learn about road safety

  • Contribute to a national road safety movement

  • Build skills and experience for your CV

  • Earn hours towards your service awards or to help your application for leadership positions.

So if you're ready to do something fun and meaningful— it's time to show up.

Sharing stories, photos and other evidence of your activities is so valuable for us, so we appreciate you taking the time to report back!
