Year 12 NLP event highlights

On the 3rd to the 5th of October, National Leaders from all over Aotearoa gathered together in Ōtautahi Christchurch to sharpen their leadership skills, work together on projects and to enhance SADD’s mahi on a national level.

This was the first time this group of Year 12’s had gotten together but by the end of the three days you would not have realised that at all!

Strong bonds were formed quickly between like minded individuals who want the best for young people. The event kicked off by understanding each person's unique leadership style and how to work together. A set of group values and principles were formed, framing how this group of young leaders want to move forward over the next year and a half.

Kaitiaki o Ara staff were massively impressed with the insight, commitment and diligence of this group - everyone gave it their all and took everything seriously. Of course, there was plenty of time for fun too with some shared kai, a scavenger hunt and a visit to Laser Strike!

Check out what each National Leader had to say about this epic event below.
