Farewelling our year 13 National and Regional Leaders

As another year comes to an end it also brings with it the completion of great things, including the time with our National and Regional Leaders who are finishing the programme, leaving school and starting new journeys either in the workplace, travelling overseas or further study - or a mix of the 3!

Our year 13 leaders who are moving on at the end of this year have been a part of our leadership programme since their selection in June 2022, although many have been involved with SADD for a time before that.

Since their selection they have undertaken individual projects, contributed to media releases, social media and focus groups; helped us to plan and pilot the interactive video, come together for incredibly productive meetings (plus a few unproductive but just as epic social catch ups!), featured in videos, presented at workshops and conferences, plus much more.

We are so grateful for our National and Regional Leaders and the time and effort that they give to our organisation. They play a big role in bringing the youth voice into everything we do and being positive role models to SADD school leaders across the country. We would not be able to achieve what we set out to do without the support of each and every one of them!

We are so proud of everything our leaders have achieved and have really enjoyed watching them all grow and develop their skills in leadership, teamwork, public speaking, facilitation, project planning and implementation and networking. We can’t wait to see what they all can go on to achieve! Some of our National and Regional Leaders will stay involved with Kaitiaki o Ara in some capacity next year, but we want to acknowledge their time with us and their commitment as their time in our official programme comes to an end.

Thanks for being awesome!

From the Kaitiaki o Ara/SADD team
