Road Safety Week 2023 - Who is your Road Safety Hero?

This year’s Road Safety Week, 15-21 May, is on the same dates as the UN Global Road Safety Week. We are celebrating our “Road Safety Heroes” and linking in messages around sustainable and active travel to match the UN theme Streets for Life #RethinkMobility.

Everyone can be a Road Safety Hero - including YOU. Use this week to celebrate anyone who is making our roads safer and shout out the people who really make a difference to you. This is your chance to speak up for safe journeys on the road because all have a part to play in keeping our roads safe.

You as Kaitiaki o Ara/SADD students play such an important role in the road safety space, and all your contributions are highly valued. You are our Road Safety Heroes, because you want to make a change, and you speak up!

There are many ways you can get involved in the RSW such as going yellow, connecting with your community partners, running an activity, creating a poster and raising awareness in your school, or simply posting on social media. Whatever suits your schedule, any contribution is valued.

Check out our dedicated RSW website here and find out more about how you can register, get some ideas for activities you could do, and find all the resources you need!

We are looking forward to seeing all your contributions to Road Safety Week. Let your voice be heard! Thank you for being our heroes.
