Police Pathways Programme = Primo!

The Police Pathway Programme (PPP) aims to provide high school students with a basic understanding of the knowledge, skills, attributes and attitudes associated with policing in Aotearoa. Students can receive up to 26 NCEA Level 3 credits. One of the unit standards students have to complete is 9681 - “Contribute within a team or group which has an objective”.

Kaitiaki o Ara/SADD and the police have an established partnership to ensure our young Kiwis are kept safe on our roads. SADD provides practical experience for the students, who go on to present their ideas and run road safety activities with their peers. We empower students to solve road safety issues,by taking them through a step by step problem solving design that can be linked within their PPP course. We run full day workshops with students on the course and invite police along to engage with.

Check out this video from two of our fantastic students from Rutherford College, explaining their own experience and the benefits in working with the Police and Kaitiaki o Ara/SADD.
