Using the New Programme!

The new programme is split into 8 sections: Alcohol, Community, Leadership & Development, Road Safety, Performance, Peer Influence, Stats & Facts and Year 9 & 10.

The concept has been devised so that if you are finding peer pressure is a major problem in your school you can go straight to that folder and find relevant activities. Some activities may even fit many more themes than the one folder they are listed under so it’s worth taking a look around!

We’ve designed all of the activities in the same format so once you understand how one works you shouldn’t have any problems following the many more to come! Each activity is set out on an Activity Sheet; once you understand a bit more about each section of the activity sheet you will be able to scan for relevant information for your school. You may be specifically interested in the objective, scanning through the summaries may suit you, or basing your choice of activity on the resources you have available. It can work so many ways!

Below is a brief explanation about each section of the activity sheets:

Title:
We’ve given all of the activities their own unique name

Objective:
The objective is a statement about what you hope to achieve by doing this
activity.

Summary:
This section gives you a brief summary of what the activity is.

Resources:
  • This section gives you a detailed list of the people, props and material you will most likely need to carry out the activity.

Outline:
  1. Here you will find a step by step guide to carrying out your chosen activity.

Additional Info:
  • Don’t skip these notes! You may find some really helpful suggestions to really enhance this activity in your school.

Some activities also come with a resource sheet. This may have been added to give you an example of something not easily explained in the activity sheet; there may be scripts with some activities, or we simply had too much to tell you and needed more room!

There are links throughout the programme between folders and resource sheets as some of these are useful for more than just the activity or folder they were originally designed to fit.

The MOST important thing to remember is that these are designed so you can change them as much as you like to suit your school or community. SADD is still all about youth teaching youth, so make these activities your own and have fun spreading the word!

Good luck and let the SADD team know how you get on!
